Print design encompasses material that is optimized for printing. Examples of print design layouts would be newsletters, business cards, resumes, magazines, catalogs, etc. These documents are laid out in professional software (sorry Microsoft®, Word® & Publisher® don't cut it) that enables complex elements to be put together quite efficiently and then optimized for printing processes.

Web Design is, of course, for web design, but also includes any material that is designed to be viewed on a computer monitor or digital display. Examples would include web site layouts, web banners, web graphics, desktop wallpapers, icons, etc.

Web Design has become a truly exciting field, and it is becoming increasingly common for both businesses and individuals to have web sites online for the world to see. They can serve many purposes spanning from commercial promotion and online stores to the sharing of knowledge and personal online journals.
